What it is

Pian Cai (偏财) is the element the Day Master controls at the same polarity — Wu earth to a Jia wood Day Master. Control between like polarities is unsentimental, and the wealth it describes moves: trading margins, commissions, side income, returns on a position. It arrives quickly and leaves the same way.

It is also traditionally the father star, for men and women alike. Someone with Pian Cai showing in the stems tends to find money where people are — through networks and information gaps rather than through salary — which is also why it gathers and disperses so readily.
