Tian Xiang (天相)

The Seal Star · Yang Water · the minister

What the star is

Tian Xiang (天相) is Yang Water of the Southern Dipper, transformed into the seal (印). It governs office and is often called the seal star or the star of food and clothing. The image is the official who keeps the seal: a loyal, fair minister who goes by the rules, through whose seal the emperor's orders pass.

Few stars depend so much on their surroundings. "Wealth and shelter flanking the seal" (财荫夹印, flanked by Hua Lu and Tian Liang) means support from benefactors; "punishment and taboo flanking the seal" (刑忌夹印, flanked by Qing Yang and Hua Ji) means pressure and constraint. To read Tian Xiang, look at its neighbours first.

Temperament

Honest, sincere and service-minded, well presented, keeps promises and cares about fairness — the friend people go to when they need a judgement. Tian Xiang follows process and looks for decorum and balance.

The tendency to watch: putting the bigger picture so far ahead that its own view disappears, and being easily swayed by the people and setting around it.

Career and wealth

The fit is "keeper of the seal" roles: administration, legal and compliance, human resources, executive support, public service. In an organisation it is the most dependable number two and the steward who keeps things running.

Money is steady, and having enough is Tian Xiang's baseline. Choosing the right platform and the right person to serve is the variable that most decides how far it goes.

Relationships

Serious and responsible in love, choosing a partner for character and stability. In marriage it is a considerate carer who can quietly accumulate grievances by always accommodating; learning to state its own needs is the important lesson.
