Lian Zhen (廉贞)

The Prisoner Star · Yin Fire · principle and charm

What the star is

Lian Zhen (廉贞) is Yin Fire, transformed into "the prisoner" (囚), and also counts as a secondary peach-blossom star. It carries more tension than any other major star: on one side the principle and discipline its name implies (廉, integrity; 贞, constancy), on the other the feeling and charm of an inner flame.

The "prisoner" is self-restraint and fixation. Used well, it is focus and integrity; used badly, it is getting stuck on something. How Lian Zhen turns out depends heavily on its company: with Tian Fu or Tian Xiang it is upright and capable; with the Sha-Po-Lang stars and harsh stars it becomes volatile.

Temperament

Sharp, capable and ambitious, socially agile, and able to switch between discipline and romance with ease. People often describe Lian Zhen as cool outside and warm inside, or as hard to place.

The lifelong task is managing emotion and desire. When fixation runs high, it tends to collide with rules or with authority.

Career and wealth

The fit is fields where rules and relationships both matter: government, law, staff roles in large organisations, public relations and marketing, precision engineering. Lian Zhen is skilled at working the relationships inside a system.

Wealth swings with the overall pattern: a clean configuration brings reputation and money together; with harsh stars or Hua Ji, finances and compliance call for real care.

Relationships

As a secondary peach-blossom star, Lian Zhen's love life is colourful, passionate and possessive, with feelings that run hot and clear. If Xian Chi or Tian Yao meet the palace, entanglements need watching. A mature Lian Zhen is often fiercely loyal in marriage.
