What each vocabulary actually measures

The Ten Gods are not ten personalities. They are ten relations between the Day Master and every other stem and branch in the chart: what controls me (officers), what feeds me (seals), what I control (wealth), what I produce (output), what stands beside me (peers). Every chart contains all ten in different strengths and seats — so strictly speaking, this crossover maps "which force in you runs strongest", not "which kind of person you are".

The Enneagram works the other way around: it assumes one core motivation — a fear paired with a desire — and asks you to find yours among nine. Laid together, the two maps read like this: the dominant Ten God in a chart is usually the force other people recognize you by, and that force keeps steady company with an Enneagram core. Five pairs follow.

The officers: Zheng Guan near 1, Qi Sha near 8

Zheng Guan (正官) is the civilized face of "what controls me" — rules, title, the weight of responsibility. Strong Zheng Guan holds itself to standards and dreads a wrong step, the same architecture as Type 1 the Reformer's "I must be correct".

Qi Sha (七杀) is the hard face of the same force — pressure, decisiveness, life won at the cliff's edge. Strong Qi Sha is most alive in confrontation, the architecture of Type 8 the Challenger's "I must be strong and unruled". Both are controlled by the same element; Zheng Guan answers with self-discipline, Qi Sha with counterforce — precisely the inward and outward poles of the Enneagram's anger triad.

The seals: Zheng Yin near 2 and 9, Pian Yin near 5

Zheng Yin (正印) is the warm face of "what feeds me" — shelter, cultivation, the air of an entrusted elder. Strong Zheng Yin both gives and needs safety, close to Type 2 the Helper's warmth and Type 9 the Peacemaker's containing calm.

Pian Yin (偏印) is the cool face of the same nourishment — solitary insight, side-door scholarship, a step of distance from the main road. Strong Pian Yin carries its own study everywhere, the architecture of Type 5 the Investigator's "understand first, join later".

Wealth: Zheng Cai near 6, Pian Cai near 7

Zheng Cai (正财) is the steady face of "what I control" — the certainty of harvest following labor. Strong Zheng Cai accumulates and abhors gambles, kin to Type 6 the Loyalist's devotion to the reliable.

Pian Cai (偏财) is the circulating face of the same force — opportunity, turnover, wealth from all quarters. Strong Pian Cai smells openings and spends generously, kin to Type 7 the Enthusiast's "the world is full of options".

Output: Shi Shen near 9 and 7, Shang Guan near 4

Shi Shen (食神) is the unhurried face of "what I produce" — craft, appetite, the ability to make a life taste good. Strong Shi Shen thrives without contending: the ease of 9 with the savoring of 7.

Shang Guan (伤官) is the sharpened face of the same output — talent worn openly, allergy to harness, the need to be seen. Strong Shang Guan spills brilliance and sometimes cuts with it, the architecture of Type 4 the Individualist's "I must be distinct", with a 7-ish quicksilver edge.

The peers, and the rules of use

Bi Jian (比肩) is the shoulder-to-shoulder face of "what stands beside me" — self-reliance, peers, positions held firmly; temperamentally near 8's autonomy with 1's stubbornness. Jie Cai (劫财) is its contending face — competitive, quick-handed, unafraid to take a share; near Type 3 the Achiever's need to win, with 7's flexibility.

The rules match the star mapping's: first cast the chart and see which Ten God genuinely holds power in the season and structure — counting occurrences alone misleads. Then set your tested Enneagram type beside it: agreement means the innate and the self-reported are in tune; tension marks the work worth doing. The crossover ends at temperamental kinship — judgment belongs to the full chart.
