Tian Liang (天梁)

The Shelter Star · Yang Earth · protection

What the star is

Tian Liang (天梁) is Yang Earth of the Southern Dipper, transformed into shelter (荫), and classically called the shelter star and the longevity star. It carries a protective force that turns danger into safety, and it naturally wants to protect others. It is the star of the elder and of the inspector.

The other side of shelter is that the storm has to come first. Protection only shows when there is something to be protected from, so Tian Liang lives often follow a script of early hardship and later steadiness.

Temperament

Steady, mature and principled, with an elder's manner and a chivalrous streak. Tian Liang likes to see justice done and to bring younger people along. It speaks plainly and has no patience for crooked dealing.

The tendency to watch: lecturing, stubbornness, and an aloofness that costs goodwill.

Career and wealth

The fit is work with a protective or regulatory character: medicine, law, education, public oversight, insurance and charitable work. The "Yang-Liang-Chang-Lu" pattern (阳梁昌禄 — Tai Yang and Tian Liang meeting Wen Chang and Lu Cun) is the classic configuration for examinations and official advancement.

Tian Liang governs honour rather than windfalls; money follows professional standing. Speculative gains run against its nature and tend to bring trouble when forced.

Relationships

In love Tian Liang is the carer and the one leaned on — responsible and loyal to old bonds. Partners with a noticeable age gap, or unusually mature ones, are common. The lesson is fewer principles and more presence.
